Cybit Positioning Solutions Limited was formed in 1997 as Orchid Limited, a 50-50 joint venture between UK-based European Telecom and Thomson CSF Racal.
Orchid was renamed Global Telematics in 1998 and then Thales Telematics in 2000 when the French Thales Group acquired Thomson CSF Racal.
Cybit Holdings Plc acquired Thales Telematics Plc in 2007.
